Generally it is hard to track these people down – and governmental authorities generally do not care unless some monetary loss has occurred. On this email (the one I received), the scammer is using an email address in China on Yahoo!. It’s a free email address – easily obtained and disposable. The scammer may be in one country while the spam email is sent through another country.
damn…i thought this one was real! Not, if you do just a little research, it sounds/looks as if it could be true because of the nature of the org. from which it is being alledged to have originated from. It took me a hot minute to finally arrive here to confirm what i immediately suspected. Not sure why I believe this over the much more referenced credentials from the good folk over at United Nations Development Programme

Hi, i am writing to inform you that i have been recieving these kind of emails more than once now, so if you can report them as scam, it would be much appreciated, the last person to email me, the same type of letter had the name of Mr. D Shaw claiming to be a Public Relation Officer.
ScamOfTheDay.com does not report scam emails for it’s readers.
I just received this mail and was not suprised for I’ve been receiving similar mails with some saying they would like to share their inheritance with me. Mostly they are from west african countries e.g senegal and ivorycoast,so I hope people won’t be tempted to disclose their information.
